STORY
To arrive there, you have to take a bus, then a boat, then a tuk tuk then walk quite a ways to arrive. It’s remote and simple, but calm and very community oriented. These women were affected by the floods and mudslides in 2011. Many lost their homes. Everyone knew someone who died or was injured. The work we are able to provide has allowed them to rebuild their homes and their local school which was not being rebuilt by the Guatemalan government. They are the main income earners in their family. In addition to providing vital income, this project also provides scholarships for 8 of their children to go to school.
